  Heard the food was legit Chinese food, place called Shanghai Restaurant, expected food like I had in Shanghai. Got delivery. Ordered 2 common foods I always ate that you cant mess up: Kungpao Chicken 宫保鸡丁 and Spicy Eggplant 红烧茄子. Eggplant was overcooked and rather bland and definitely not spicy. The ingredients in the Kungpao Chicken were not cooked together well. Was also bland except a strong celery flavor, not spiced, not what that dish should taste like. Food not salty enough and the correct oils were not used. Also got General Tso Chicken 左宗棠鸡, which I was told was their best dish and although it was not bad, it was definitely not authentic or tasty. Was like a slightly blander and mushier version of 糖醋里脊 but with chicken. Unfortunately not the authentic Chinese food I was looking for, but still edible, just was the fast food version. Maybe I needed to tell them to make it like they do in Shanghai lol.

  Whew... Well tonight was a first. We picked up carry-out tonight. Once we got home, we realized we were missing two items from our order -- one of which was NOODLES for the CHOW MEIN!!! We called to inform Shanghai of the error and the woman working told us she'd send it right away for delivery since it was their error. Considering that this is the SECOND time that this has happened in as many visits, we assumed that the delivery would be quick. ONE HOUR LATER -- still no food. The woman working was never honest about what was going on and ultimately we had to return to the restaurant to pick up our order...again. There was never an attempt to make up for our extreme inconvenience since it was now 9pm and there was not even an apology for our trouble. I've never been so disappointed in a restaurant experience. My suggestion is to go somewhere else with your business since Shanghai seemingly doesn't care about their customers once the bill has been paid.
